St Mary’s has been closed to the majority of pupils from 20 March 2020, remaining open as care provision for the children of key workers and some children with specific identified needs.
The teachers have been providing daily work and communicating via Purple Mash and email.
From 1 June, the government advised schools that they could start to reopen to wider pupil groups, prioritising Reception and Year 1 in our setting.
We will be welcoming back pupils from Reception & Year 1. Although we would like to have all of our pupils back, we must ensure that everyone is as safe as possible before this can happen. With the current advice and guidelines that are in place, we would need a considerably larger building to start with!
We will update the information on this page as we regularly receive new information based on national guidance, independent SAGE reports, the professional bodies’ union advice, guidance from the local authority and from reviewing our own risk assessment based on our own unique criteria such as staffing, health, safety & hygiene, safeguarding and site requirements.
