Summer Cycling Events
The London Borough of Ealing are running a number of events during the summer for young cyclists. Please see the information below:
Cycle Training UK provides free cycle training (funded by Ealing Borough Council) at more than 40 Ealing schools every year, with hundreds of students in years 5-9 completing an on-road cycling skills course. Our ambition is to help every child in Ealing cycle with confidence and we believe that learning with friends and family is a great way to achieve that.
We’d love to hear from groups of families who want to build their cycling skills and confidence together. Our experienced instructors are available in the summer holidays and beyond to lead group sessions to develop your children’s cycling ability while ensuring that you have the knowledge to help them continue to learn and practise. We will help you fit and risk-assess their cycle and equipment, identify safe areas for them to practise and ensure that you are passing on the best cycling habits. We can also provide advice on how best to manage small group rides to reduce the stress of riding on-road as a family.
Contact us at email@example.com to schedule a session for just you and your friends.
Alternatively come along to our free Friday Family Cycling Fun sessions, there’s no need to book, just turn up in good time for the start of the session. Two sessions every Friday throughout August: 10am-12 noon sessions are for families with children over 6; and 1pm-3:30pm sessions are for families with children over 9.
3rd August – Southall Park (at the tennis courts)
10th August – Acton Park (at the tennis courts)
17th August – Elthorne Park (at the tennis courts)
24th August – Northala Fields (at the cafe)
See https://www.cycletraining.co.uk/boroughs/ealing.html for more details of these and many more cycling activities in Ealing including led rides and free bike checks
Walk to school week – the message lives on
Walk to School Week may now be gone till next year, but the messages and reasons for supporting this every year are still part of our everyday lives.
With the holidays coming up, this offers a great opportunity to use that pedometer and get out and about!
When we come back in September, it would be great to here were you’ve visited on foot, scooter or bike. Remember how healthy those activities are for both you and the environment.
