We aim to provide a stimulating education to meet the learning needs of all our pupils, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
The school is inclusive. Every child is valued and the belief that everyone is made in the image of God means that the uniqueness of every child is respected. The curriculum and school ethos are designed to help children to grow in mind, body, and spirit.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, to prepare children for the challenges of life in the 21st century, using the freedom we have as a free school to make the curriculum relevant to our pupils. As the school grows, we intend to draw upon the local historical heritage as well as the rich diversity of cultures that reflect the local area and our school community.
Currently, we use the following schemes in school:
Phonics – Letters and Sounds
English – Hamilton Trust
Reading – Oxford Reading Tree, Alphakids, Collins Big Cat
Maths – Abacus
RE – we are currently using the Diocese of Canterbury scheme
Our spinney on the new site will provide an excellent resource for the pupils to learn about the natural world. The school council are already gathering ideas for this project!
We believe that our caring learning culture enables all children to make their best progress. Parents are actively encouraged to engage with the school, to best support their children’s learning at home. As a one form entry school, we take pride in knowing each and every child and their family.
We are still working on our curriculum for Years 4 – 6 as the school grows, taking into account any changes in educational initiatives. You can download an overview of our Curriculum so far here:
