Miss Curthoys introduced us to a very important date in her home country’s calendar… Australia Day.
To celebrate her home country’s national day we explored her home towns using Google Earth, we discussed how Australia was founded and we watched some clips from Australian television.
Most important of all we danced to some awesome Aussie rock and ate some delicious vegemite sandwiches.
Did we like our vegemite sandwiches? You can be the judge by looking at the selection of photos below.

On Tuesday the 17th of January, Chestnut class was invited to an assembly at Khalsa primary school.
The assembly was held because it is currently a very special time in the Sikh calendar. They are celebrating the 350th birth anniversary of their 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
As we arrived we needed to remove our shoes and cover our heads as a sign of respect.
We all really enjoyed the assembly, with many of us experiencing a new way to worship.
