23 March, 2016

This morning our Easter garden competition took place. Both Ash class and Beech class made the most amazing Easter and Spring gardens for Mrs James and Reverend Jeff to judge. The overall winner went to Leah Coelho with her fantastic entry! Harry Burns and Kaidie Klein were judged the best Spring gardens in each class and Eleanor Hamlyn and Chloe Wakely took best Easter garden in each class! Well done to all that participated! It was so hard to choose winners as every single entry was made with tremendous effort. Well done!

Iver Enviroment Centre Trip

17 March, 2016

Today both Ash class and Beech class visited Iver Environment Centre as part of our environmental week. We had a really packed day with both classes participating in butter making, wheat grinding, a fruit and vegetable hunt, planting and also a tour around the farm to visit sheep and their lambs, cows and their calves, hens and their eggs and of course Brie the sheepdog! We had a brilliant, very exciting day!

Bees

15 March, 2016

We had a lovely visit from Hen’s corner today! Owner Sarah Ward came to talk to us about her collection of bees and how important they are to everyday life! The children were fascinated to find out about the different types of bees that work in the hive and also how to care for them as ‘pets’! Sara brought in a hive that was full of honey for the children to try and also dress up at a bee keeper themselves!

Environmental week

14 March, 2016

Today marks the first day of our environmental week! The company, Crew Education came to visit us this morning to take part in a workshop that explored how to look after our environment. The children discussed how the world was being effected by pollution, climate change, rubbish and waste and many other factors. The children learnt so much and really engaged in all activities. A great start to such an important topic!

World Book Day

4 March, 2016

Today was World Book Day! All the children (and staff) came to school dressed as their favourite book character and all looked fantastic! In Ash Class we created our own books, made book marks, wrote about our favourite characters, shared lots of books and even acted the stories out. It has been a fabulous day and amazing to see the effort that was put into all the costumes!

Ash Class will be thinking about transport. We will be reading books about boats, bicycles, trains, planes and automobiles (cars, buses and motorbikes) and having fun exploring different ways of moving.

London Zoo Nativity trail

7 December, 2015

Today Ash class visited London Zoo to take part in the Nativity trail! We met the 3 wise men who told us all about their lovely camels, 2 very funny shepherds and their sheep and goats and we also managed to find our way to the stable to meet Mary and baby Jesus! We also managed to meet a very special visitor at the zoo…Father Christmas! The children in Ash class were so beautifully behaved and we had a lovely day observing the Zoo’s multitude of animals!
