Jane Mutch – Headteacher
Mrs Mutch began her teaching career in 1999 as a Reception teacher. She has taught across the primary key stages, later becoming an Assistant Head, then Deputy Head at her previous school. As a staff governor, she played a key role during the expansion, amalgamation and building works at her last school. Jane has a wealth of experience in curriculum design and development, staff development and teacher training.
Auriol Hale – Assistant Head and Year 1 Teacher
Mrs Hale completed teacher training in Church of England schools through the London Diocesan Board for Schools. She specialised in the Early Years Foundation Stage and maths. After qualifying she taught in central London and then spent a year teaching in New Zealand.
Harry Doyle – Assistant Head and Year 6 Teacher
Mr Doyle has been with St Mary’s School since 2018, having previously taught in the London Borough of Hounslow and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. He has led a range of subjects throughout his teaching career – most recently maths, where he contributed to raising children’s attainment through the development of reasoning and problem solving skills across a school. Mr Doyle is equally enthusiastic about children’s writing and brings with him a depth of knowledge regarding Pie Corbett’s writing strategies.
Vivien West – SENCo
Mrs West has been teaching for 20 years in a range of London schools. She was originally an English teacher but has been specialising in SEN for the last 5 years. She has a strong commitment to ensure every child receives the support and guidance that they need in order to have a positive and enjoyable educational experience.
Deborah Collins – Year 2 Teacher
Ms Collins qualified as an Early Years & Key Stage 1 Teacher in 2017. Previously, she worked as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with additional needs in both high school and primary school settings. Ms Collins is passionate about teaching children with a view to supporting their individual needs and has great aspirations for every child.
Hina Malik – Year 3 Teacher
Helga Vodila – Year 5 Teacher
Mrs Vodila has a BA (Hons) degree in geography and English language & literature. She enjoys teaching the children about our lovely planet and all the exciting places around the world. Mrs Vodila is also particularly interested in sports and outdoors, organising various competitions for children and founding a weekly running club for all the staff members at St Mary’s.
Luca Failde – Year 6 and Spanish Teacher
Although I was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), I grew up in the paradisiac Tenerife Island. Until I was 22 years old, I studied there my university degree (Primary School Education with a major in English). After that, I moved to Madrid to complete my Master in High Standard Education and Diversity Needs. Following my dream to move abroad, I lived in Dublin for almost 2 years and then roads took me to London in 2019. 4 cities, 2 degrees, 6 years of experience and much more to learn and to teach .
Madelyn Ellison – Reception Teacher
Ms Ellison trained to be a primary teacher and high school science specialist in Australia. She has experience working across all year groups from Nursery up to Year 6. She enjoys encouraging children to question the world around them and to take an interest in science from a young age.
Inderpreet Kalsi – Year 4 Teacher
Miss Kalsi is our Elm Class (Year 4) teacher. She has a BSc (honours) in Psychology and a Post Graduate certificate in Education from Kingston University. Miss Kalsi is very passionate about teaching and allows her children to think ‘outside the box’. She has experience with different cultures and backgrounds and is able to adapt to ensure her classroom is inclusive.
Sadaf Obaid – HLTA
Mrs Obaid has worked as a Teaching Assistant for 14 years in a variety of schools, ranging from Montessori, private, mainstream and SEN. She brings with her a wealth of experience and a passion for working with children from different cultures and backgrounds.
Kamaljit Sangha – HLTA
Mrs Sangha is committed to raising the standard of teaching and learning. She brings many years of experience and a passion for learning. She has previously worked as a nursery nurse and pre-school assistant in various settings.
Stacey Jones – TA
Miss Jones is a dedicated Teaching Assistant who has over six years’ experience working in a church school before joining St Marys’. She has a lot of experience in supporting children with SEN with the aid of interventions for their individual needs and also in mainstream teaching. Miss Jones has had experience working across all the year groups from nursery to year 6, specialising in helping students to break down barriers to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Kashmiro Ram – TA
Ms Ram has 12 years experience within Early Years and KS1, and is passionate about working with young children. She takes pride in helping them to reach their full potential in all areas of their development
Luidmila Toms – SMSA
Mrs Toms has worked in education since 1999 both in Russia and the UK. She has also worked as a nanny and as a volunteer within Children’s Centres. Luidmila holds First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates.
Jane Maqbool – Administrator
Mrs Maqbool is an experienced Administrator and is delighted to support the Trustees and the Head in the running of St Mary’s School. Being a local resident for most of her life, she is excited to be a part of this Church of England school in Norwood Green.
Lee Plummer – Site Manager
Mr Plummer is an experienced Site Manager and has a passion for site security and the safeguarding of our children. He also takes great pride in ensuring that our school always looks its best.
