Our curriculum and teaching ensure that children of all abilities, faiths and backgrounds are fully included. The recognition of the uniqueness of each child arises directly from our Christian values; everyone is created in God’s image.

We fully support children of all abilities, including the most able, children with special educational needs and children who are learning English as an additional language.

We encourage and challenge all children with our differentiated curriculum. Our SENCo, Mrs West, manages the provision for children with additional learning needs. It is essential to recognise the specific learning strengths/needs of all children at particular times, as well as those with longer-term learning requirements. Further details of our policies on special educational needs (SEN) can be found here SEND Policy Nov 16

We firmly believe that children need to be happy in order to learn. This is key to them achieving their full potential. Early assessment helps us to create individual learning programmes. In keeping with good practice, we assess children termly, and use formal end of year tasks to monitor and respond to their progress.

By tracking learning performance regularly, and consulting with the Inclusion Coordinator, staff can support children’s specific needs, as they arise.

We encourage a collaborative approach, engaging with children, parents and carers in reviewing progress and promoting the best outcomes for children’s education.

The Pupil Premium is funding given to schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

This funding is additional and is spent on extra provision.  This can include paying for additional classroom staff or for additional resources.

Pupils are eligible for the Pupil Premium if they:

  • Are currently or have been eligible for free school meals in the last six years.
  • Are ‘looked after’ children.
  • Are children of service personnel. (This group currently receives a lower amount)

If you think your child would qualify for this, please collect the application form from the office.
